I decided to go for a walk earlier because the weather here in Chi-town is exquisite (74 degrees, not a cloud in the sky, and a slight breeze). I drove near Glencoe beach and walked along Sheridan Rd. I recently learned to truly live in the moment because if I do not embrace everything around me that I am experiencing, this very moment will pass and it will be gone forever. On my way to the beach I made an effort to look around and see things I don't normally pay attention to (since I am usually thinking about what I am about to do, the email I need to send, errands, and so on). Instead I really focused on everything around me and noticed this really neat old looking iron gate. I also noticed these beautiful vines climbing up the side of this home I always drive by, but never notice. Even as I walked I noticed every intricate detail of the leaves surrounding me and little branches poking out from underneath them. Now every moment is like an adventure as I constantly look around searching for new things. Here are some pictures I took during my walk (isn't the one above amazing? They were on a branch from the tree below in the middle).
The sound of the rustling leaves from the breeze was equally stunning. Oh, and here s a pile of leaves I decided to jump in (check it out below). It felt amazing and I couldn't stop laughing at myself; I don't know the last time I did that! I try not to use the word never, however, I will make an exception.....I will never stop being a kid at heart:)!
