Well as the name would suggest, here is a collection of some flowers I have been brightening up my place with. My home is small (a studio in NYC) and mostly white, so I love infusing it with some color. I have been purchasing flowers on a regular basis for several months now and I will say it really makes me happy. I love waking up to a beautiful arrangement beside my bed. Such a great way to start my day! I believe bringing life into your home makes all the difference. And I absolutely needed it with this long winter, ugh.
Here are some pictures of ranunculus (as well as the pic to the right); some of my favorite flowers.
Here is an arrangement with tulips, ranunculus, and a filler (pretty little yellow flowers that were so sweet looking).
Here I found several types of flowers I liked and the amazing employees at Whole Foods wrapped them all up together for me while I did my shopping. The result was beautiful, as if I expected anything less.
Notice the picture in the frame.....one of the gorgeous beaches on the island where my mom is from in Greece.
Up next, I am ready to bring in two of my childhood favorites. Peonies and lilacs. I saw this gentleman on the bus with these stunning lilacs. Be still my heart. I remember last spring when I visited my parents and my mom had some lilacs waiting for me on my bedside table. And they smelled fantastic!!! I am definitely going to bring peonies home as well. My parents have them growing in their yard outside of Chicago. One flower my mom is stingy with is the hydrangea (I have to beg her to put them in my room when I visit, but she just won't budge--I mean what's her deal?). They are simply breathtaking. Well, at least I enjoy them outside of the house. I can always camp out there so I can be enveloped in a bed of hydrangeas. Now we're talking. That would be exquisite.
