The Weight of Who You Are

Recently I came across a quote I believe sums up how I strive to live.....just being myself, embracing everything about who I am.
"Let people feel the weight of who you are, and let them deal with it."
I found this in a book by John Eldridge, quoting his friend Brent.

And I have to say, I'm pretty darn pleased with the woman I am. It took me quite some time to get to this point: completely content and at peace with who I am as a woman. So much time is spent wasted on who we think we should be rather than simply being.

Ooh, that reminds me of another quote I heard from Lauryn Hill. "The real you is more interesting than the fake somebody else." So often we are pressured by society to fit a certain mold. Why? From a young age I would always say I'm ok with being weird, or 'different' because in terms of what we consider normal nowadays I'd much rather be weird.
